The State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino and its Fano and Urbino branches offer a mail-order search service:

- Searches of the Military District archives (conscription records and military service rolls)

The State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino preserve the records and military service rolls relating to soldiers who served in the army from 1839 to 1940.

The series of conscription records, initially divided into the two districts of Pesaro and Urbino, covers the period 1839-1950.

Requests for military records must be sent exclusively by email to:
as-pu@cultura.gov.it

The following information must be provided for searches:

- first name
- last name
- year of birth (or a limited period of 3 years)

- place of birth (for conscription records)

Response time: within 30 days of receiving the request.

- Civil Status Research

The Urbino State Archives Section holds the second original copy of the Civil Status records (from 1866 to 1970) for the municipalities in the district of the Urbino Court.

The Pesaro office and the Urbino Section also hold the birth, marriage, and baptism registers compiled by parishes within the province for the period 1861-1865.

The request cannot contain more than three names, for which the following information must be provided:

- first name
- last name
- year of birth
- place of birth
- parents' names, or at least the father's name, to exclude cases of homonymy

Response time: within 30 days of receiving the request.

Requests and information regarding archival materials held by the Urbino Section must be sent exclusively by email to
as-pu.urbino@cultura.gov.it.

It is recommended that the purpose of the research be clearly and clearly stated, including all necessary information to narrow the search as much as possible to the relevant collections.
