As part of the 2025 Duke's Day Celebration, on Monday, August 11, at 5:30 pm, in Urbino, in the Courtyard of Honor of the Doge's Palace, the State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino - Urbino Section, is organizing a meeting on the topic:

The Poisoning of the Duke of Urbino. A Scandalous Letter to the Doge of Venice

How did the first Duke Della Rovere die? Was he poisoned like Hamlet's father? From the Archives of the Dukes of Urbino, a letter from Ambassador Leonardi to the Doge of Venice reveals the scandalous background to a Renaissance mystery.

The meeting will be an opportunity to present the first results of the digitization project of the Duchy of Urbino collection held at the State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino and the State Archives of Florence, some reproductions of which will be displayed.
